In this article, you’ll learn what a business unit is in Penetrace, how you can set it up to match your business (by country, brand, or category), and how it makes sharing access with colleagues and agencies easier.

What is a Business Unit?

Depending on your subscription, a Penetrace account can consist of one or several business units. Business units help you organize your data and control who has access to it.

A business unit in Penetrace represents a way of structuring your account to reflect how your business is set up.

A business unit can be, for example:

  • A country
  • A brand
  • A category

It simply depends on how you choose to structure your organization within Penetrace.

The benefit of several Business Units?

Business units provide flexibility in how you manage account access. Instead of sharing everything with everyone, you can control which parts of your account are visible to which users.

This makes it easier to:

  • Segment access so users only see what’s relevant.

  • Collaborate securely with partners such as agencies.

  • Keep sensitive data restricted to the right people.

Examples

  • If you manage multiple brands, you can invite your media agency to see only one brand’s business unit, while keeping other brands hidden.
  • If each brand has its own dedicated agency, you can grant access accordingly so that each agency only sees the business unit relevant to them.
  • For media agencies, you can organize your customers into separate business units and grant them access within one account—without sharing information between customers. Perfect for reporting brand trackers in Trend Monitor and campaign tests in Campaign Monitor for your whole customer base.
  • For media companies, you can also organize your customers in the same way, ensuring each customer only has access to their own business unit, while still managing everything in one account. Perfect for gathering and reporting all your media company's campaign tests on behalf of customers in Campaign Monitor.
