In this article, we explain what Topic Settings are and how to use them to control the appearance and behaviour of your topic in a Trend Monitor.

What Are Topic settings?

Topic Settings allow you to customize how your topic looks and how users interact with it.
Here, you can update the topic name, add a description, choose the layout for your graphs, and manage which filters and highlight graphs are available.

How to access Topic settings

  1. Go to your topic and click Edit in the top right corner.

  2. In the Topic settings tab:

    • Update the Title to change the topic name.
    • Add a Description to provide context or instructions for users.
    • Choose your preferred grid type to decide how many graphs appear per row.
      • List – displays all graph details (main chart, icons, legend, etc.)
      • 2 per row / 3 per row / 4 per row - shows a cleaner, more compact layout.
      • Custom Grid – allows you to create your own layout by adjusting graph sizes.

Topic Filter Settings

In the Filter Settings tab, you can decide which filters users can apply when viewing the graphs within a topic. Select from available filter groups (e.g., gender, age, region).

Topic Highlight

The Topic Highlight tab lets you choose specific highlighted graphs to appear in the highlight table at the top of the topic. Graphs added here will not appear in the main grid view.

Important Notes

  • You need editor or administrator permissions to edit topic settings.
  • Changes to topic layout or filters are immediately visible to all users with access to the topic.
